I encourage you to schedule a standard consultation at my office. Retaining an attorney can be a big commitment. Depending on your legal needs, you may need to work with your attorney for a couple of hours to many years. It is certainly an important decision. You need someone to advise you of the law, explain the interplay of the law with your particular situation, and listen to what you need. In my standard consultation, I explain the law, review your documents, and listen to you, your thoughts, and your needs.
A standard consultation generally takes an hour to an hour and half. I charge a flat fee for the consultation. I want to make sure I can answer all your questions during the consultation.
The most important part of the standard consultation . . . taking the time to explore the attorney-client relationship. I believe that it is important that you trust your attorney and that you are comfortable working with your attorney. After all, an attorney should be your most trusted advisor.
Half-Hour Phone Consultation
Have a quick question. Give me a call.
My practice focuses on divorce, family law and estate planning and administration. I am offering an introductory 1/2 hour consultation for basic legal questions in these areas.
Because of the discounted fee, I do have some terms and conditions.
You must complete the Intake form on the My Forms page and mail, fax or email it to me before the consultation can be scheduled.
The consultation must be paid for in advance by money order, check or credit card. If you are paying by credit card, please download the credit card authorization and send it to me along with your Intake form.
If you have questions about forms, court order or other legal documents, please send copies of these documents to me in advance of our consultation so that I may review them with you during the consultation. Do not send originals. I will not return these documents.
If you need to reschedule or cancel the appointment, I must be notified at least 6 hours in advance during normal business hours. Unless it is an emergency, I will only reschedule the appointment once. Since I have reserved the time for you, there is a $25.oo dollar fee for missed or cancelled appointments. If you are late, I will not extend the appointment.
My representation of you will be limited to the our discussion during the consultation. As the consultation is limited, I will not be able to fully evaluate your facts and circumstances.
Scheduling the 1/2 hour consultation does not create an attorney-client relationship. I am only your attorney after you and I have signed a retainer agreement and you have paid the retainer deposit.
